Lawrence County Man Facing Drug Charges

A Lawrence Co man has been arrested after police said they found drugs in his possession. According to reports, on Sunday, April 20, a Martin County constable responded to a call from dispatch in reference to an abandoned vehicle on New Route 3 near Inez. The vehicle reportedly found Green Ramey, 44, passed out in the driver’s seat severely intoxicated.

Ramey was charged with public intoxication – controlled substance (excludes alcohol), two counts of possession of a controlled substance in the first degree – first offense (drug unspecified), possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia – buy/possess and trafficking in a controlled substance in the first degree – first offense (greater than or equal to two grams of methamphetamine).

Ramey was lodged in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center. Ramey’s case was waived to the grand jury after he appeared in court for arraignment on Tuesday, April 22.
