Kentucky Lawmaker Proposes Bill to Speed Up Home Construction, Lower Development Costs

A Kentucky state lawmaker is introducing a measure that is aimed at accelerating home construction in the commonwealth.

Republican state Senator Robby Mills is supporting Senate Bill Nine.

The measure would give cities and counties approval to create Residential Infrastructure Development Districts, which would allow them to have infrastructure costs like sewer and water system expansion financed over time.

This would take away those upfront costs from developers and may make new homes more affordable, according to the senator.
