Ohio Man Arrested After DUI Crash on KY 302 in Van Lear

A man from Ohio is charged with DUI and felony assault after crashing his vehicle at Van Lear on Saturday.

Deputies responded to the site of the crash on KY 302.

The report shows 39-year-old David Allen Bowling, of Columbus, Ohio, attempted to walk up to the deputy to explain what happened.

Bowling initially stated that he had not been drinking before the crash, but then later changed his story and said that he had “only drunk two.”

The deputy arrested Bowling for suspicion of DUI and he later tested .202 breath alcohol content at the Big Sandy Regional Jail, which is more than twice the legal limit for driving.
