A single vehicle crash early Friday morning has claimed the life of a Knott County woman.
39-year-old Melisa Slone, of Garner, was driving north on KY-15 in Sassafras when her Chevrolet Silverado struck a rock in the roadway, causing the vehicle to overturn.
Slone was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators say alcohol is believed to be a contributing factor, toxicology results are pending, and she was not wearing a seatbelt.
