The Johnson Central Golden Eagles Baseball Team evened up their record at 1-1 during their Spring Break Trip to St. Petersburg, Florida. JCHS defeated Regis, NY (9-4) on Tuesday afternoon. They lost their opening game earlier Tuesday vs Eastern, NJ (9-5).
Leading the way for the Golden Eagles in their come from behind Win vs Regis, NY, was Sr. Cameron Kelsey, who went 2 for 3 with a Triple, 2 RBI’s and a Run Scored. Soph. Chase Preece went 2/3, including his first HR of the Season and he had 2 RBI’s and a Run Scored. Fr. Kyler Callaham also collected 2 hits in the game, including a Triple and had 2 RBI’s.
Fr. Brayden Shepherd, Sr. Brock Butcher, Fr. Kaleb Callaham, Sr. Boston Crace and Fr. Braxton Perry each collected 1 Hit in the Game. Kaleb Callaham also had an RBI. JCHS had a total of 11 Hits, as well as 6 Walks.
Fr. Kyle Rose was credited with the Win, pitching 4 2/3 innings, 4 Runs (2 earned), 3 Hits, striking out 5 and walking 3. The Golden Eagles also got strong relief pitching by Brock Butcher and Dawson Montgomery.
The Win pushes Johnson Central to 6-6 on the Season. They have Wednesday off before playing 2 games on Thursday, April 4 vs Woodford Co, Ky at 10 AM and Canisius, (Buffalo) NY 4 PM.
