A 66-year-old Elk Horn City woman has died in an accident involving an ambulance.
The woman identified as Deborah J. Akers was being transported from Pikeville to the UK Medical Center when the ambulance apparently hit a guard rail and flipped throwing Akers from the ambulance.
An EMT was also thrown from the ambulance and is recovering from injuries received in the mishap.
