The Paintsville Tourism Commission is beginning its search for a new leader after the untimely passing of Jeremiah Parsons in January.
The deadline to apply for the executive director position has now passed.
The tourism commission recently held an executive session to go over the 22 applications that were received.
The commission narrowed down the applicants to five finalists, who were interviewed Wednesday.
Also last week, the Paintsville Tourism commission approved a 6-thousand-dollar sponsorship for the East Kentucky Gearheads Car Club, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to protect and promote the vintage car hobby in the region.
