A cracked windshield has landed a Pike County woman in jail facing drug trafficking charges.
Debra Lynn Smith was pulled over for the cracked windshield, no side mirror, and a burned-out brake light.
The Pikeville police officer said he spotted a syringe in Smith’s backpack while she was looking for her license.
His search found a large amount of meth, a smaller amount of fentanyl, scales, and a bag of syringes inside a purse.
Smith told the officer that the purse wasn’t hers.
