Magoffin County K-9 to Receive Protective Body Armor

A Magoffin County Sheriff’s Office K-9 will soon have added protection on the job thanks to a charitable donation.

K-9 Nitra has been selected to receive a bullet- and stab-resistant vest from the nonprofit organization Vested Interest in K9s. The vest was sponsored by Paula and Jacobi Richard of St. Augustine, Florida, and will be embroidered in honor of CSPD K-9 Roam.

The custom-fitted protective vest is expected to be delivered within the next ten weeks.

Vested Interest in K9s has provided more than 6,300 protective vests to law enforcement dogs across all 50 states since the organization was founded in 2009. The nonprofit says the vests help protect K-9 officers serving with law enforcement agencies throughout the country.
